FAQs
How much do your services cost?
It depends. I know that is an unsatisfying answer, especially if you have a specific budget number in mind that you need to stick with. I determine the price for every project as an estimate of the number of hours it will take to complete it, and each project scope is specific to what the organization or company needs. Just to give you a ballpark, I am typically with organizations that have ~$500,000 budgets and/or that have set aside at least $20,000 in their annual budgets for professional services. If that feels like you - or it’s in the ballpark - get in touch so that we can talk specifics.
My funder requires me to do a strategic plan every three years? Do you do strategic plans?
Yes, AND my planning process might be a bit different than what you’re used to. For more information on Responsive Strategic Planning, please see my Services page. To summarize, my in-depth approach to planning typically requires board and staff to interrogate vision, mission, and values (and potentially rewrite them) and typically includes outreach to an organization’s “customers” (e.g. funders, clients, etc.).
Can you tell me how long a project will take? I need to have it done by…?
I want to help you! Typically, I am scheduling my start dates with clients 2-3 months out from our initial conversations, and the average client engagement is 4 months. Get in touch and we’ll see if we can make it work!
I need a DEI consultant. HELP ME!
I am an organizational development consultant, but I know so many good ones. Please email me for a referral!
I am ready to talk about equity and the -isms in our planning and strategy work, but I’m worried my board is not. Will you help me?
To be honest, it’s not likely. I think organizations have some markers of readiness to be able to take this work on. If they don’t have a high capacity for directness and a bit of healthy, productive conflict, your board probably wouldn’t like me anyway. Remember, I’m an OD consultant - not a DEI consultant - so you won’t get the best bang for your buck if I spend my time arguing about racism and capitalism with your peeps.
